Choose your appliance and the symptom you are seeing. This tool gives you likely issue categories, safe checks you can make without disassembling the appliance, warning signs that mean you should stop using it, and the most relevant repair guide.

What the Appliance Problem Checker Does

The checker groups common symptoms into likely issue categories and shows only basic checks that do not require bypassing safety devices or dismantling the appliance. It is intentionally conservative: the same symptom can have several possible causes, and an in-person diagnosis may still be required.

High-Demand Problems Covered

  • Dishwasher not draining or standing water
  • Dryer not heating or taking too long to dry
  • Refrigerator not cooling
  • Washer not draining or not spinning
  • Oven not heating
  • Water leaks, unusual noises, no-start conditions, overheating, gas odor, and appliance error codes
